I am concerned that my immunotherapy prescription does not appear to cover all of the allergens I tested positive for. Is this ok?

In order to achieve the most robust response, our providers focus on including the most important allergens specific to your area that are positive on your test results. This allows your immune system to build tolerance to those allergens that are contributing the most to your symptoms.

Allergens can also “cross-react” with other allergens. This means some allergens are recognized by the body similarly. Thus, treatment with only one of the “cross-reactive” allergens is necessary to achieve tolerance to the others.

Lastly, there are some allergens for which there is not good evidence to support treatment efficacy or the treat extracts are not available. As a result, your provider may not include these in your formulation.
